Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics encompasses the diagnosis and treatment of sequelae of dental caries and includes the techniques and procedures to restore the teeth to full function & appearance in an aesthetically pleasing manner with as little loss of healthy tooth structure as possible. It also involves performing root canal treatment and associated surgical procedures to rid the tooth of its offending malady.
The department has two state of art clinical sections; one for undergraduate students wherein basic treatment procedures are done and one for postgraduate students wherein all advanced treatments are given.
The department is fully equipped with modern sterilization equipments, x - ray unit and RVG. Various latest restorative materials are available for clinical use. The preclinical undergraduate section is equipped with simulators and phantom heads for training second year undergraduates. The Undergraduate clinic is well equipped with 39 fully electronic dental chairs and students are well trained in decision making, planning treatment and its execution.
The department has well equipped isolated operatory that helps postgraduate students to deliver a comprehensive treatment for surgical endodontic procedures as well as well equipped ceramic laboratory and casting laboratory.
The departmental has state of the art equipment which include digital radiography & intraoral imaging , apex locators ,dentine desensitizer , E&Q plus-meta-biomed thermoplastisized G.P system, thermaprep plus kit oven, reduction gear hand-piece to name a few. Keeping pace with the fast changing treatment modalities in modern day dentistry, a surgical operating microscope has been installed in the department.
Teaching material consists of books, journals, and online information. Computers, LCD Projector, Scanner and Printer include the facilities available along with 24 hour internet facility.
